1st stop was at Rattlesnake Rock Access Area

Ave. speed 9.4 mph- riding time 2hr 57 min- 27.8 miles
Continued North and turned around at the Village of Asap
Returned to Darling Run for rest and lunch at 1:45 PM
Ave. speed 9.3 mph-3hrs 40 min on bikes-34.24 miles
1st rest stop on return trip was a Tiadaghton. If you have your own bike, one great option is to have them shuttle your car to your finishing point. Well maintained, Wellsboro to Jersey shore downhill. I am an avid rail to trail biker, and have biked on trails from Cape Cod to California. The Pine Creek Rail Trail continues south from Blackwell 1.8 miles to a nice parking area and a fantastic secret feature attraction, Rattlesnake rock. Two are near old graveyards with graves of veterans of the revolutionary war. The family and I walked a couple miles of the trail up on the north end by Ansonia last year. Built on the former Jersey Shore, Pine Creek and Buffalo Railroad the trail runs through Tioga and Lycoming Counties. All I have is a road bike. Bob. Packed gravel. Follow Route 44 north through the valley to Route 414 above Jersey Mills. The Darling Run Access Area offers bathrooms and an information station. The one exception is an ice cream shop about half way but I didn't stop so I don't know the days or hours of operation. This is what most of the bike path looks like - tree lined on both sides for the majority of it. The trail extends 62 miles south from Wellsboro Junction to Jersey Shore in the adjoining Tiadaghton State Forest. My assessment is the trail was extremely well designed and thought outthere seemed to be more than adequate facilities, parking areas, with well marked signagewe used the trail mainly for several runsfrom Blackwell to Rattle Snake Rock parking area, and from Blackwell north for roughly 15:00 minutes at an average pace. We averaged 6 to 10 minutes a mile depending on stops. Cant wait to experience all the beauty of our great state Pennsylvania. It's not overcrowded -- I saw about six people in 1-1/2 hours! Even with it being a holiday weekend I didn't find the trail too busy and most riders were friendly and considerate. interesting informational boards to read at stops along the way. There's a road to the right of the path, and the signs are on the hill to the right of the road -, (This sign should say Burma Shave, in my opinion!). They are located less than a mile west of the Ansonia Access Area on Route 6. At 2.8 miles the Pine Hill-West Branch Trail turns south toward Balsam Mountain. All in all, it's a gorgeous trip, but what made it even better was discovering Pag-Omar Farms Market at the Wellsboro end! The trail is perfectly maintained, hard packed, no litter at all, in fact there are no trash cans either because of the heavy black bear population! The next point of interest worth stopping at is Tiadaghton Campground, which is just over four miles south of the Turkey Path at Leonard Harrison State Park.
